A brutally rugged sea of golden green and copper settles along a shore. A yellow log protrudes from the foreground into the Waves bearing 3 sea lions. The light drowns out their features, though by their body language they are truly engulfed by the warmth of the sun. I was inspired to do this piece after a morning out to Simpson Reef when the sun was just rising. The Sea was harsh but the sea lions were fully at peace basking in the warm rays from above. The light was blinding but serene.
